The Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) lets Alberta homeowners install solar with $0 down. Repayments are added to your property tax bill — not your mortgage. Take the 60-second quiz to see if you qualify.
CEIP is a property-tax program, so the property must be owned.
We help you complete the CEIP application with your municipality. Approval typically takes 2–4 weeks.
Once approved, we install your system. Master Electrician-led, no subcontractors. CEIP covers up to 100% of project cost.
Repayment is added as a local improvement charge on your property tax bill. Stays with the property if you sell.

If you sell before CEIP is paid off, the balance transfers to the new owner along with the solar system.
CEIP is registered as a local improvement charge, not a personal loan. It does not affect your personal credit.
Municipal rates are set below typical unsecured loan rates. Fixed for the life of the CEIP term.
Pay off the balance early through your municipality without any penalty.
CEIP is administered locally. Here are the communities where Flux Renewables installs solar through CEIP financing.
“Got 5 quotes. Flux was the best overall deal. Responsive, easy to deal with, and they did a fantastic job.”
“Extremely pleased from first contact to final debrief. Extremely professional throughout the entire process.”
“Comprehensive quote, professional install. The crew even cleaned up and vacuumed when they were done.”

The Clean Energy Improvement Program is a municipal financing program that lets Alberta property owners install solar with $0 down. The repayment is added to your property tax bill over a term of 10–25 years at below-market interest rates. Calgary made CEIP a permanent program, and it is also available in Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere, Strathmore, and Canmore.
CEIP can cover up to 100% of eligible project costs with no upfront capital required. Maximum loan amounts vary by municipality, but most programs cover typical residential solar installations ($20,000–$60,000) fully. We help you confirm your specific limit during the application.
The CEIP balance stays with the property and transfers to the new owner — you are not personally liable for the remaining balance. The new owner inherits the solar system and continues repayment through their property taxes. This is a major advantage over personal loans.
CEIP is registered as a local improvement charge on the property (similar to a sidewalk or road assessment), not a personal loan. It does not appear on your credit report and does not affect your mortgage directly. However, you should notify your mortgage lender, as some require notification of property tax changes.
Typical approval takes 2–4 weeks depending on your municipality. We handle the application paperwork and provide all required project documentation. Once approved, installation usually happens within another 4–8 weeks.
Yes. CEIP stacks with Alberta microgeneration export credits (currently up to $0.35/kWh) and any active federal, provincial, or municipal grants. Commercial projects can combine CEIP with the 30% federal Investment Tax Credit.
